HeyJamiez Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jamiez LLC collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use www.heyjamiez.com and its directories: JamiezCarez, JamiezCarz, JamiezJobz, JamiezPetz and JamiezProz. It is part of our Website Terms of Use.
1. Scope
This policy covers the Site only. Membership and the Hey Jamiez App (app.heyjamiez.com and its mobile versions) are governed by the membership contract and the App's own terms and privacy notice, which describe the data collected there, including payment information. The Site does not collect payments.
The Site is a directory. Jamiez is not a party to arrangements between people and the providers listed. What you tell a provider directly is handled by that provider, not by us.

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or government ID numbers. Please do not put them in a listing, review, or message. Search terms in JamiezCarez or JamiezPetz can suggest personal circumstances (for example a type of care or a pet's need). We treat them as ordinary search data and do not use them to build a profile of you.
3. How we collect it
We collect information you give us directly (forms, listings, reviews, email), automatically through cookies and similar technologies (Section 6), and from our service providers, such as the host and analytics tools that process Site traffic data. Contact details that providers publish in listings are shown on the Site as part of the listing.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- operate the directories, show and rank search results, and review listings before they are published
- respond to your messages and requests, including takedown and removal requests
- keep the Site secure, prevent spam, fraud, and misuse, and enforce our Terms
- understand how the Site is used and improve it
- send service messages about your listing or request, and, where you opt in or the law allows, news about Jamiez and the Hey Jamiez App (every marketing email has an unsubscribe link)
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests
We do not use the Site to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. How we share it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as follows:
- Publicly. A listing, its contact details, and reviews you post are visible to anyone who visits the Site.
- Service providers. Companies that host the Site, send email, provide analytics and security, and handle forms process information for us under agreements that limit their use of it.
- Affiliates and successors. Jamiez entities under common ownership may receive it, and it may transfer to a buyer or successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, including a transfer or license of the Site and related intellectual property to an affiliate. We will honor this policy for information already collected unless we give notice of a change.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, court order, or government request, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Jamiez, providers, or others.
- With your direction. For example, when you ask us to forward a message to a provider.
Providers you contact are independent businesses and use your information under their own policies.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar tools to keep the Site working, remember choices such as your selected neighborhood, measure traffic, and keep the Site secure. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Site may not work as intended.
The Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no common standard for them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing, although we do not sell or share personal information. We do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity on the Site for their own advertising.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, then delete or de-identify it. As a guide: listing information stays while the listing is live and for up to 3 years after removal, so we can handle disputes and re-listing requests; messages and requests, up to 3 years; server and analytics logs, up to 24 months. We may keep information longer where the law requires it or a dispute is pending.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.
9. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you these rights, subject to exceptions:
- Know and access. Ask what personal information we collected, used, and disclosed about you in the past 12 months, and get a copy.
- Delete. Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you.
- Correct. Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the law.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
- No retaliation. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email hello@heyjamiez.com or write to us at the mailing address in Section 13, with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity by matching details you give us to what we hold, and we respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension if needed. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your written permission. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our decision and asking for a review.
Over the past 12 months, we collected the categories in Section 2 for the purposes in Section 4, and disclosed them to the recipients in Section 5. We have not sold or shared personal information.
Under California Civil Code section 1798.83, California residents may ask once a year for the identity of third parties to whom we disclosed personal information for their direct marketing, and the categories shared. We do not make those disclosures.
10. Children
The Site is for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Other websites
The Site links to provider websites and other third-party services. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their practices. Read their policies before you share information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy by posting the new version with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will give notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after the effective date means you accept the update.
